Join us in Cambridge
The Centre for Climate Repair, in association with UArctic, is proud to present Arctic Repair 2025, a pioneering conference on innovative solutions for a changing climate. Over three days, we'll explore the most promising research into protecting the Arctic from rapid warming with experts on science, technology, and ethical pathways. Come to beautiful Cambridge, United Kingdom, from 26th - 28th June to join the conversation.
What happens in the Arctic doesn't stay in the Arctic: it matters for everyone.

How can we protect the Arctic in an era of rapid warming caused by human action - and who should decide?
Arctic Repair 2025 brings together global researchers, policymakers, scientists, and innovators to address the urgent challenges facing the Arctic as climate change intensifies. This pioneering conference centres on five cutting-edge ideas of potential climate engineering interventions and governance frameworks. Our 5 Big Themes are stepping stones to more informed decision-making where it matters. Together, we aim to defend the Arctic while ensuring a just and responsible response to the climate crisis.
A second window for abstract submissions is open now.

5 BIG
THEMES
How can we protect the Arctic in an era of rapid warming caused by human action - and who should decide?
WHO DECIDES?
Ethics and Governance
Rising temperatures have global effects, but locally deployed climate interventions impact communities. Who should have the ultimate say on intervention deployment? And is it fair? This session will delve into the ethics of climate repair.
BRIGHT IDEAS
Marine Cloud Brightening
Can brighter clouds help mitigate rising ocean temperatures? In this session, we will discuss latest technologies, modelling and real-world insights on Marine Cloud Brightening research.
ABOVE THE CLOUDS
Stratospheric Aerosol Injection
Mount Pinatubo measurably cooled the climate 33 years ago. Can we do something similar? This session will focus on the latest research and modelling into this revolutionary method of simulating the after-effects of super volcanoes to cool the planet.
GEO-ENGINEE-RING 2.0
Other Interventions
How can we protect the Arctic ice that is already there? This session will explore the innovative interventions that are being researched across the globe. Ice thickening, seabed curtains, sun shades, ocean foaming... how else can we protect the Arctic?
THE WAY AHEAD
The future of Arctic repair
Discuss how climate repair fits into conversations on the global stage and the potential paths to implementation. With solutions needed now, public attitudes will determine the success of current and future research.
